Headquartered in New York City, Chainalysis helps government agencies, cryptocurrency businesses, and financial institutions engage confidently with cryptocurrency. But despite being valued at over $4 billion and working with organizations in over 60 countries, it’s their people, not their product, that they say is their greatest asset.
“We firmly believe diversity is a team's biggest strength, which is why we welcome people with different backgrounds and experiences. Chainalysis’ momentum has only been possible due to the drive of our community,” Chainlaysis says.

Tell us about your journey at Chainalysis. How did you get started, what do you do now, and what makes you excited to work for Chainalysis every day?
I joined Chainalysis in March 2021 after spending almost five years on the exchange side as deputy chief compliance officer at Gemini Trust Company and then chief compliance officer at Bitstamp USA, Inc. At both of the exchanges, I was a customer of Chainalysis and knew the team really well. An opportunity came up for me to join Chainalysis as a subject matter expert helping our customer navigate the ever-changing world of crypto compliance. Chainalysis has a lot of very smart people working here, and we touch all aspects of the cryptocurrency world so no day is ever the same.
Mission-driven Chainalysis aims to make the world a safer place by tracking and preventing crimes like human trafficking, money laundering, ransomeware, terrorism, and more. Their top metrics—Ability to Telecommute, The People You Work With, and Flexible Work Hours—all score 4.5 and above, and employees enjoy perks such as fertility assistance and 20, count ‘em, 20 vacation days. You’re also a working mom. What kind of support have you received from Chainalysis as a parent or parent-to-be?
Chainalysis updated their parental leave policy in the fall 2021. Originally, you had to be working at Chainalysis for a year and then you would be given 12 weeks leave. When I found out, I was expecting the due date to be two weeks shy of my one year anniversary. I started having conversations with leadership, and they assured me we would figure something out and get creative. Behind the scenes they were working on updating our overall policy. A member of our HR team reached out to me before the policy was publicly announced to let me know that they were amending the policy so that you only had to be an employee for six months and then you were given 24 weeks paid leave.
Chainalysis’ three top metrics on InHerSight are Ability to Telecommute, The People You Work With, and Flexible Work Hours. As an employee, parent, or both, how have those three metrics impacted your experience at the company?
All three of these metrics are very important to me. I think one positive that has come out of the global pandemic is realizing that we can work from home with flexible work hours and still be productive. I live outside of Manhattan, and my commute is about an hour and half each way. Once I started telecommuting daily, I was saving 15 hours a week that I get to spend with my family. In between meetings it's amazing that I get to spend time with my two children if they happen to be home. I no longer have that immense “mom guilt” that I’m missing out on everything. Working with people that I respect, admire, and actually like is huge for me. We spend a lot of time with our coworkers, away from our family, so it is really important to me that I enjoy the people I work with.
What advice would you give women interested in joining Chainalysis?
Chainalysis is still a really young company, and it is a great time to join as we continue to scale. Whether you are just starting out in your career or you are more senior we have women of all types of backgrounds who are very supportive.
