We combed through comments from the hundreds of women who participated in our recent survey about the effects of work stress on sleep. Here’s a collection of our favorite tips and tricks for getting better rest from the InHerSight audience!

10 easy tips for getting the best sleep of your life

1. “I've found that setting aside 10 minutes each night to review my calendar and to-do list for the next day, helps me relax.”

2. “Sunday night into Monday is the worst. Go to sleep early and try to limit too much socializing the day before if you’re an introvert.”

3. “Magnesium, ashwagandha and tea help to relax me.”

4. “Learning to meditate through a mindfulness-based stress reduction course has helped immensely.”

5. “I have found CBD oil somewhat helpful.

Our find: Here’s a popular CBD oil brand.

6. “I do my best to disconnect from work after work. Only rarely do I check my work phone/emails after hours. I'm fortunate that this is not expected in my current role.”

7. “If you want to try melatonin, take it early in the evening! Effects can linger through the next morning if you take it too late.”

Our find: Try this low dose melatonin in gummy or capsule form.

8. “Apps like Headspace are helpful and the book Don't Sweat the Small Stuff was eye-opening.”

Our find: If you can’t find this book at your local library, get a copy here.

9. “Sleep meditations! Magnesium supplementation. Early morning sunlight outside and late evening sunlight. Daily exercise.”

Our find: A sunrise alarm clock and a LUX light to supplement as winter approaches.

10. “I've found that setting aside 10 minutes each night to review my calendar and to-do list for the next day, helps me relax.”

Our find: Stay organized with our favorite planner.
