In the tech world, where innovation is the driving force, it takes exceptional individuals to lead teams through an ever-evolving landscape. Meet Veronica Jones and Anastasiya Azheuskaya, two remarkable women who serve as agile project managers at Radancy, a cloud-based talent acquisition software provider.

As women leaders in tech, they’re helping their organization achieve its goals – and achieving their own in turn, thanks to Radancy’s supportive and growth-oriented culture.

We asked each to share what their day-to-day work entails to better understand how this high-demand, versatile career functions and with what skills and support structures it flourishes. Leadership opportunities, teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation are all integral aspects of the role, but it takes a company culture willing to foster those skill sets in order for it all to come together.

Read on to learn more about having a career in tech, Radancy, and why a dynamic, rewarding role with this company might be perfect for you.

Meet the women in tech

What do you do at Radancy?

Veronica Jones: “I am an agile project manager for two product teams. I facilitate scrum ceremonies and manage projects from inception to completion using an adaptable approach. I prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and remove obstacles to ensure the project/team can stay on track using tools such as Jira.”

Anastasiya Azheuskaya: “At Radancy, my role as an agile project manager involves facilitating and supporting the agile development process within our teams. I act as a guide, helping our cross-functional teams to effectively implement scrum practices, manage their work, and continuously improve their processes. Essentially, I ensure that our teams are working collaboratively, staying focused on delivering value, and adapting to changes efficiently.”

What kinds of projects or products do you work on?

Veronica: “Currently, we have this project in flight called Event Promotion & Registration. This is the first project I have been a part of as a new member of the Radancy team. Events are a vital part of recruiting, as they allow companies to promote brand awareness, drive applications and enhance their marketing, all while tracking their ROI. Being a part of cross-team collaborations with different product teams, learning new ways to track and measure the progress of the project, as well as getting the opportunity to work alongside so many talented individuals from unique backgrounds has been very inspiring.”

Anastasiya: “I focus on the employee referrals product. This product holds special significance for both my career and the company as a whole. Through enhancing our employee referrals system, we've not only amplified the effectiveness of our client's hiring processes but also strengthened our position as a solutions provider in the talent acquisition industry. This project allowed me to sharpen my leadership capabilities, navigate intricate stakeholder engagements, and align the team's efforts cohesively to achieve a shared objective.”

On a day-to-day basis, what soft and hard skills do you use in your role?

Veronica: “Some of the soft skills I use daily are communication, adaptability, and time management. Hard skills I use are proficiency in using project management software such as Jira, risk management, and data analysis.”

Anastasiya: “On a day-to-day basis, I utilize a mix of soft and hard skills. Soft skills include effective communication to facilitate collaboration, active listening to understand team dynamics, conflict resolution to address any challenges, and empathy to support team members. Hard skills involve a deep understanding of the scrum framework and project management techniques to make informed decisions and guide the team's progress.”

What has surprised you the most about your current career?

Veronica: “I am most surprised at how much the role revolves around adaptability and change. It is pretty cool to see how teams and projects evolve over time and the dynamic nature of agile methodologies keeps me on my toes!”

Anastasiya: ”The most surprising aspect of my current career as a scrum master is the profound impact that a well-functioning agile team can have on project outcomes. Witnessing how an empowered and motivated team can consistently deliver high-quality products, adapt to changes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement has been inspiring.”

How has Radancy supported your personal and/or professional growth?

Veronica: “Immediately upon hire, you are placed in what’s called a “New Hire Immersion Program.” This program places you in a group of new hires who meet pretty frequently to ensure that we all get to know others within the company as well as to talk through professional challenges and wins. You get an opportunity to get partnered up with a mentor, which I think is a wonderful idea!

“Additionally, Radancy provides regular performance reviews, which have been so helpful in fostering self-improvement. During the review process, we fill out our objectives alongside both personal and professional goals and plans for achieving them. We add a timeline to each. Once your review has been submitted, your manager covers everything with you and discusses ways in which Radancy can help support you in your goals. During the review, you also hear feedback from peers and managers who work closely with you. I think this is a great way to understand strengths and weaknesses and work toward improvement.”

Anastasiya: “Radancy has been incredibly supportive of my personal and professional growth. The company offers ongoing training opportunities, which have allowed me to enhance my knowledge of agile methodologies and leadership skills. Additionally, I've been involved in internal communities of practice where I can exchange experiences and learn from fellow scrum masters. The management style at Radancy encourages open communication, which has contributed to my growth.”
